Scotts Valley Running Festival
The inaugural "Scotts Valley Running Festival" (SVRF), expands on the ever-popular Bean Creek Run, and will take place on September 17 and 18, 2016, with proceeds going toward both the Scotts Valley Sports Complex, a community-driven campaign focused on raising $5.5 million to complete the stadium, track and field at Scotts Valley High School, and the Falcon Club, which supports all SVHS after school sports.

Saturday, September 17

Event Expo/Registration – 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm

“Fund” Run – Specifically benefitting the Falcon Club, this event will take place on Saturday during the running event expo when participants are checking in for the weekend’s activities. Athletes can warm up for the big race by running laps on the high school track, raising funds through pledges for the Scotts Valley High School Falcon Club.

Water slide for “kids” of all ages!
Sunday, September 18

1K Kids Fun Run – Kids Aged 6-12 will participate in a 1K Run that will start and finish on the SVHS Track

5K Run – The 5K Run will be mostly flat and fast and fun for the whole family, and will start in front of SVHS and finish on the SVHS track

12K Run – Begins at SVHS and winds down Scotts Valley Dr. to Bean Creek. Through stunning redwoods, the somewhat hilly course will end on the SVHS track

The Falcon Club will be holding a “Run-A-Thon” on Saturday, September 17, 2016.
Get family and friends to pledge a select amount of money per lap you complete in this fun run fundraiser! All laps will be run on the Scotts Valley High School Track and ALL proceeds go to the Scotts Valley Falcon Club. Start anytime between 12:00pm and 4:00pm.
This is a great opportunity to help raise money for the Falcon Club. Did you know that $272,000 is needed per year to run the sports programs at SVHS. We are the ONLY School District that has to pay 100% for our Sports programs.
***Running Festival Event Expo will coincide with the Falcon Club “Fund Run”. Expo will run between 12:00-4:00pm on Saturday. Race check in and vendor expo.
Scotts Valley Sports Complex

As you know, Scotts Valley High School is one of the last remaining schools in the county to have updated athletic facilities. Since it was built in 1999, students and their families have enjoyed a strong athletic program, but due to the deficiencies of the outdoor athletic facilities, many SVHS teams have rarely enjoyed the opportunity to host games on their home turf. SVSC is tasked with raising $5.5 million for the construction of a new track and field and the development of adjoining stadium seating.
The dirt track makes it unusable for both track practices and meets. The grass field at SVHS has perpetual drainage issues when it rains, leading to closures, cancellation of practice and relocation of home games. Soccer and lacrosse teams are unable to regularly host all of their home games due to poor drainage and limited seating forces spectators to stand or sit on the ground during most home games.
About the Scotts Valley Running Festival
The Scotts Valley Running Festival is being produced by USA Productions, in conjunction with the Scotts Valley Sports Complex and the Falcon Club. USA Productions is an event production company that specializes in running and triathlon events. All proceeds from the event will benefit the SVSC’s efforts to improve the athletic facilities and programs at Scotts Valley High School.
